In
December of 1996, the Adams Lake Band Membership voted in favour of the
Adams Lake Secwepemc Election Rules to replace the Indian Act sections
that controlled the election of Chief and Council. The election
rules were last amended in December 2005. All off reserve ALIB
membership must contact the band office and provide their mailing
address to receive an election notice and ALIB Newsletter. The election
for Chief and Council is held every three years according to the
election rules.
